I was born in urban Miami and lived in a neighborhood that was very active in many ways.
Early on in my childhood my mother filled my days with busy graphical work to keep me off the streets. Cutting up pages from magazines was my favorite. Pasting various collected pieces on a single page of what my mom called my “scrapbook “ introduced me to a wonderful world of patterns.
I have lived in this world all my life.
Got educated, became an Architect, and landed at UVA and Charlottesville. I taught school and practiced patterning through my Architecture practice.
In my mind, Art and Architecture seem seamless. That marriage took me to 8 states and 3 countries over 35 years.
To this day I still see patterns everywhere and the process of capturing them remains a joy.
